Kim Edstrom Schiller, Director of Investigations, Special Victims
Kim Edstrom Schiller is the Director of Investigations for the Special Victims Unit at the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA), where she brings a trauma-informed approach to her leadership and investigative work. With a diverse career spanning mental health counseling, criminal justice, higher education, and even floral and event design, Kim’s professional journey reflects a deep commitment to understanding and supporting individuals and communities affected by trauma.
Her extensive background includes roles as a Therapist, Professor, Probation Officer, and Mediator, all of which have informed her holistic perspective on human behavior, organizational dynamics, and justice. Kim has worked with children, families, and adults navigating the impact of trauma and has also supported professionals in high-stress environments where vicarious trauma is common.
Kim holds a Master of Science in Human Services Counseling, and certifications in Mediation and Ecopsychology. In 2020, she began pursuing a Doctorate in Social Work and looks forward to completing it in the near future.
