Summary Reports: At the conclusion of every investigation, COPA produces a detailed summary report of the investigation and its findings. Each summary report of investigation will be posted here regardless of the outcome or if discipline was recommended. Annual Reports: By February 15 of each year, COPA will publish an annual report summarizing a year-over-year analysis of key statistics regarding complaint intake, pending case loads, and investigation resolutions. The annual report will also serve as a year-in-review for the operations of agency.
Quarterly Reports: By April 15, July 15 and October 15 of each year, COPA will publish a quarterly report summarizing a quarter-over-quarter analysis of key statistics regarding complaint intake, pending case loads, and investigation resolutions.
Policy, Research & Analysis: Reports and correspondence (1) identifying patterns or practices of misconduct; (2) highlighting operational, policy, or training concerns identified through disciplinary investigations requiring immediate attention; and (3) recommending revisions to the Chicago Police Department’s policies, practices, collective bargaining agreements, programs and training to advance the culture of policing and build public trust.
