Loren Seidner, Supervising Investigator

Loren is a Supervising Investigator, who started at COPA in 2018.  He currently supervises one of the teams assigned to COPA’s Intake Unit. Prior to working at COPA, Loren spent over 25 years as an attorney practicing criminal law. He started his legal career as an Assistant State’s Attorney in the Cook County State’s Attorneys Office, prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases before assigned as the “First Chair” in a felony courtroom. Loren then moved into private practice where he opened his own law firm and represented people charged with crimes ranging from traffic offenses to violent felonies. Loren’s time as a prosecutor, and majority of his defense work, involved cases with the Chicago Police Department, giving him experience conducting his own investigations into those cases, as well as reviewing and analyzing the investigative work from more than one perspective. Loren has practiced in both state and federal courts, and has argued cases before the Illinois Appellate Court and Illinois Supreme Court. Loren earned his Bachelors in Business Administration from the University of Iowa, and his law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law.
