The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; to add your name to the list of speakers, please contact the Chicago Police Board's office. The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at the Chicago Public Safety Headquarters.

COPA Conversation with 47th Ward Ald. Matt Martin

Chief Sydney Roberts and COPA leadership will join 47th Ward Alderman Matt Martin to participate in a virtual town hall conversation on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. COPA plans to share its agency overview and answer questions from residents during this forum.

COPA Police Academy Presentation

COPA was one of the speakers for the summer session of the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) New Recruits Police Academy to discuss the agency’s mission and the role we play in police reform. The New Recruits Police Academy is a department-wide strategy designed to educate the community on police operations, build community trust, and improve engagement efforts through department-led training and discussion.

Imagining Philadelphia Police Oversight Townhall

COPA’s Chief Roberts will be participating in the Imagining Philadelphia Police Oversight Townhall, a panel hosted by POWER, which is an interfaith organization committed to building communities of opportunity that represents over 50 congregations throughout Southeastern and Central Pennsylvania. Chief Roberts was asked to speak specifically about how Philadelphia can implement oversight based on how COPA has implemented oversight in Chicago.

Hyde Park Kenwood Community Conference Community Dialogue on Police Accountability

COPA’s Chief Roberts will be speaking on a panel for Hyde Park-Kenwood Community Conference for its Community Dialogue series focusing on police accountability. Other speakers included in this event are Bocar Ba of the Invisible Institute, Inspector General Joseph Ferguson and local grassroots organizations.

Chief Sydney Roberts and COPA leadership will join 46th Ward Alderman James Cappelman to participate in a virtual town hall conversation about the work of COPA and the state of police accountability in Chicago. This event will take place on Tuesday, July 21st at 6PM.

Street Leader Social Justice Panel

COPA participated in a Street Leader Social Justice Panel with 50 youth hosted by UrbanPromise where panelists discussed the impact of youth in social justice.
