29th Annual C.F. Stradford Awards Ceremony hosted by Cook County State’s Attorney Kimberly M. Foxx

In recognition of African American History Month, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx along with members of the office’s African American Advisory Council presented the C.F. Stradford Award to individuals who have made contributions to the African American community through their professional lives. The C.F. Stradford Award is named for Cornelius Francis Stradford, a pioneer in the legal community and co-founder of the Cook County Bar Association and the National Bar Association. This event is open to the public with RSVP.

Our goal is to allow residents to have more access to COPA in their neighborhood in an effort to meet them where they are and build community partnerships.

City of Chicago Consent Decree Community Conversations

University Center 525 S. State, Chicago

The Chicago Public Department will be holding consent decree community conversations at a variety of sites in each police district. COPA plans to join in this conversation and engage the community at some of the sites. We will be present at the University Center on March 14th in District 1.

Public Meetings of the Police Board

The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; contact the Board's office by 4:30 p.m. of the day before the meeting to add your name to the list of speakers.

The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at the Chicago Public Safety Headquarters.

COPA Speaks to Students at University of Illinois at Chicago

UIC College of Urban Planning will be joined by COPA’s Public Affairs team at the University of Illinois at Chicago. COPA will visit and share information about the agency, its jurisdiction and the complaint process. A COPA staff attorney will make a presentation and Public Affairs will assist in answering questions. This is a closed event.
