COPA RELEASES VIDEO & OTHER MATERIALS OF OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING NEAR 3900 W. MADISON

 

Today, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) released video and other materials of the officer-involved shooting, which occurred on October 31, 2021, near the 3900 W. Madison in accordance with and in advance of the City’s 60-day Video Release Policy.

Two individuals, who were in their vehicle at the time, reported to a Chicago Police Officer that they were threatened with guns in a parking lot. As the officer approached the area identified by the two individuals, an unknown subject opened fire on the vehicle. The Chicago Police Officer discharged his firearm at the individual, who fled the area without being apprehended. There is no indication anyone was struck by gunfire.

Materials released today are in accordance with the City’s Video Release Policy and in advance of the 60-day requirement.
