As the two officers pursued, in an attempt to apprehend the subject, the subject fired his weapon, striking one of the officers and continued firing at other responding officers. Officers continued to pursue the subject, during which time he, again, fired at officers, which resulted in two officers returning fire, fatally wounding him.
Materials released today include relevant body-worn and 3rd party video footage, OEMC transmissions, ShotSpotter recordings, Case Incident and Tactical Response Reports which can be viewed by visiting https://www.chicagocopa.org/case/2021-1076/.
