COPA PROVIDES STATEMENT ON VIDEO RELEASE OF OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING NEAR 700 BLOCK OF NORTH TRUMBULL

Today, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) released video and other materials of an officer-involved shooting that took place on July 10, 2020 near the 700 block of North Trumbull Avenue.

Chicago Police Officers from the 11th District were conducting an undercover narcotics operation when an individual began firing in the direction of the officers. Three Chicago Police officers returned fire, discharging their weapons at the subject who was taken into custody shortly thereafter. No injuries were reported.

Today’s release is consistent with COPA’s commitment to transparency and in accordance with the City’s Video Release Policy. Materials released include numerous officer body-worn camera video, 3rd-Party footage, OEMC transmissions, 911 calls and Shot Spotter audio clips as well as Case Incident and Tactical Response Reports which can be viewed by visiting https://www.chicagocopa.org/case/2020-3121/.
