The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA), reached a milestone celebrating its one-year anniversary as the city of Chicago’s police oversight agency. The anniversary event was held at the investigative office headquarters (1615 W. Chicago Avenue). COPA’s leadership team, community advisory board members and its entire staff gathered to commemorate this special occasion.

“Today is an exciting day and as we celebrate the accomplishments of the prior year we also look towards ways to continue to enhance police oversight in Chicago,” said Chief Administrator Sydney Roberts. “COPA has made and continues to make great strides in addressing police accountability and maintaining trust with the residents of Chicago. We have done well but recognize there is still much to be accomplished. However, we did pause to celebrate our accomplishments thus far.”
