COPA will be visiting TASC-Chatham parole office to participate in a meeting and join a dialogue on how to help returning citizens overcome barriers to re-entry, building capacity through networking with local and state community constituents and leaders, and communicate with other fellow TASC partnering agencies.

Addressing Police Accountability & Community Safety at DePaul University
Join the Journal for Social Justice & the Center for Public Interest Law for a discussion about police accountability in Chicago. The event aims to address how to hold both police officers and law enforcement agencies responsible for effectively delivering basic services of crime control. The Journal also hopes to address Chicago's long history of racism in policing, including persistent racially discriminatory practices ranging from street level harassment and arrests to excessive and deadly force, and ultimately mass incarceration.

Public Meetings of the Police Board
The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; contact the Board's office by 4:30 p.m. of the day before the meeting to add your name to the list of speakers.
The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at the Chicago Public Safety Headquarters.
