Event Calendar

The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; to add your name to the list of speakers, please contact the Chicago Police Board’s office. The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. Whether the meeting will be in person or via Zoom will be determined closer to each meeting date.

COPA will met virtually with over 70 community members for the Marshall Square Resource Network (MSRN) Quarterly Meeting hosted by Latinos Progresando.

Lightfoot and the Office of Budget and Management are organizing a series of Budget Engagement Forums for senior leaders across the City to listen to residents about their priorities and ideas for Chicago's next budget. Participants can visit a City resource fair, listen to a budget presentation, and participate in small group discussions as well as public comment. Registration and masks are required.

• August 17, 2021: Muslim Community Center – 4380 N Elston Ave, Chicago, IL 60641 (North Side)

• August 18, 2021: Garfield Park Golden Dome Field House – 100 N Central Park Ave, Chicago, IL 60624 (West Side)

• August 24, 2021: Kennedy King Community College – 6301 S Halsted St, Chicago, IL 60621 (South Side)

• August 26, 2021: Virtual Public Forum via Zoom

Mikva Challenge is hosting a State of Chicago Youth Town Hall to amplify policy ideas and visions of youth leaders across Chicago. At the Town Hall, young people will present their advocacy and solutions to ensure Chicago institutions are more equitable and responsive. Youth with Mikva Challenge will also share solutions needed in public sectors including health, education, juvenile justice and community safety.
