COPA joins Anna Valencia City Clerk Office along with various city departments, sister agencies, aldermanic offices and community organizations for the launch of the new Mobile City Hall. Mobile City Hall will be hosted regionally at various convenient locations throughout Chicago to allow residents access to several city and community services. Residents will also have an opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the services of City Hall. COPA will share with residents the agency outreach efforts and the role we play in police accountability. Staff will also be available to receive complaints and compliments on members of the Chicago Police Department.

COPA Community Visit at DFSS King Center

DFSS KING CENTER 4314 S. Cottage Grove, Chicago, IL

The Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) plans to visit this DFSS Community Service Center on Thursday, October 3rd to make it easier for residents to file a complaint or compliment a member of the Chicago Police Department. Block Club 2019 Convention

Simeon High School 8147 S. Vincennes, Chicago, IL

COPA will be present at the Block Club 2019 Convention being held at Simeon High School. Guest speakers include Mayor Lightfoot, Operation PUSH Jonathan Jackson, St. Sabina Father Pfleger, along with several other city and community organizations. COPA staff will be available to explain to the public the role we play in police reform.

Leader’s Network

The Leader’s Network is a gathering of church and community members working together to organize, strategize, and mobilize to improve the quality of life for West side residents and greater Chicago. We believe all people are valuable and for this reason we are committed to social justice and disaster relief both locally and globally, continuing the path of those who have gone before us. COPA will attend to discuss with attendees the role we are playing in police accountability.

15th District Domestic Violence Subcommittee Community Meeting

COPA plans to share its mission, vision, outreach efforts and explain its commitment to investigating allegations of domestic violence and sexual misconduct and supporting survivors.

Fall Citizen’s Police Academy

COPA will be one of the speakers at the fall session of the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) Citizen’s Police Academy to discuss the agency’s mission and the role we play in police reform. The Citizen’s Police Academy is a department-wide strategy designed to educate the community on police operations, build community trust, and improve engagement efforts through department-led training and discussion.
