The Bud Billiken Parade

COPA staff will be participating in the 2018 Bud Billiken Parade. In addition, COPA consistently educates the public about what the agency’s mission, work, and investigative outcomes as well as identifies and creates opportunities for consistent dialogue with the community at large. 2nd District Public Safety Meeting

COPA will be attending the 2nd District Public Safety meeting on Wednesday, August 29th that is being held by the 3rd and 4th ward aldermen.  Aldermen Dowell (3rd Ward) and Aldermen King (4th Ward) is hosting this special Bronzeville Public Safety meeting to hear what the city is doing to improve the security of residents and businesses in the 2nd District.

The Leaders Network

CPS Community Action Council Meeting – Austin

10th District Police Station 3315 Ogden Ave., Chicago, IL, United States

There are several CACs across Chicago. Each works to empower the community they serve to lead the improvement of local quality education. CAC members include parents; elected officials; faith-based institutions, health care and community-based organizations; Local School Council (LSC) members; business leaders; educators and school administrators; staff members from Chicago’s Sister Agencies; community residents; and students. This event is open to the public.

Lawndale Community Christian Center

Lawndale Christian Legal Center 1530 S. Hamlin, Chicago, IL

COPA will speak to a group of young adults at the Lawndale Community Christian Center to educate them on the role that the agency plays and the importance of police oversight and accountability.

Public Meetings of the Police Board

Chicago Public Safety Headquarters 3510 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL, United States

The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; contact the Board's office by 4:30 p.m. of the day before the meeting to add your name to the list of speakers.

The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at Chicago Public Safety Headquarters.

Treatment Alternatives For Safe Communities (TASC) Chatham Integrated Staffing Meetings

TASC Chatham holds integrated staffing meetings twice a month for participants to engage in dialogue on how to help returning citizens overcome barriers to re-entry, build capacity through networking with local and state community constituents and leaders, and communicate with other fellow TASC partnering agencies. COPA will be in attendance to discuss its agency services. This is a closed event.
