Public Meetings of the Police Board

Chicago Public Safety Headquarters 3510 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL, United States

The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; contact the Board's office by 4:30 p.m. of the day before the meeting to add your name to the list of speakers.

The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at Chicago Public Safety Headquarters.

Community 4 Unity

South Shore Cultural Center 7059 S. South Shore Dr., Chicago, IL, United States

Community 4 Unity, is the vision of acclaimed vocalist and community leader Maggie Brown, in partnership with Friends Of the Park at Southshore Cultural Center. Brown hopes to feature talented members of the Chicago Police Department from the 3rd District, in Grand Crossing. COPA will be on-site to share information about the agency mission. 

29th Ward Community Meeting with Alderman Taliferro

COPA will speak at the 29th Ward Community Meeting on police accountability. This is an opportunity for constituents to meet with COPA leadership staff and Alderman Taliferro. Attendees can also learn about COPA’s investigative process including how to report outcomes to the citizens we serve and how to reduce police misconduct.

Westside Ministers Coalition

The Westside Ministers Coalition of Chicago and Vicinity Inc., is an organization whose mission is to provide services that will initiate self-help efforts to improve the Austin community of Chicago in areas of housing, public safety, clergy involvement, education, health, energy conservation, community, youth and economic development, to work in cooperation with other organizations sharing similar values in accomplishing our goals.

The event is open to the public.

The Bud Billiken Parade

COPA staff will be participating in the 2018 Bud Billiken Parade. In addition, COPA consistently educates the public about what the agency’s mission, work, and investigative outcomes as well as identifies and creates opportunities for consistent dialogue with the community at large. This event is open to the public. 

21st Ward, Alderman Howard Brookins Community Town Hall Meeting

Come and greet Alderman Howard Brookins Jr. at the 21st Ward Town Hall Meeting. Hear what’s new in the ward. Also, learn about what’s coming to Chicago, and get some of those questions answered. While learning how you can help with building a better 21st ward community. COPA will be in attendance to answer any questions residents have about the agency.

2nd District Public Safety Meeting

COPA will be attending the 2nd District Public Safety meeting on Wednesday, August 29th that is being held by the 3rd and 4th ward aldermen.  Aldermen Dowell (3rd Ward) and Aldermen King (4th Ward) is hosting this special Bronzeville Public Safety meeting to hear what the city is doing to improve the security of residents and businesses in the 2nd District.

The Leaders Network
