Youth Empowerment Summit

The Humboldt Park Youth and Safety Committee, of which Bickerdike Redevelopment Corporation is a member, is excited to announce that we and several of our long-time community partners will host a Youth Empowerment Summit . The Youth Empowerment Summit will be an opportunity for community partners to host an event for youth between the ages of 14 – 24 who may not have access to resources and/or positive relationships. The goal for the event is to provide several workshops throughout the day to educate youth on resources available to them such as housing, education, employment opportunities, as well as expungement information.

The Illinois Attorney General’s Office is working with community organizations to hold Consent Decree Community Roundtables to ensure residents of Chicago have a meaningful opportunity to provide input on the process of reforming the Chicago Police Department. Civilian Office of Police Department (COPA) will participate in the group discussions.  RSVPs are encouraged with the Illinois Attorney General Office to attend due to space limitation.

Public Meetings of the Police Board

Chicago Public Safety Headquarters 3510 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago, IL, United States

The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; contact the Board's office by 4:30 p.m. of the day before the meeting to add your name to the list of speakers.

The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at Chicago Public Safety Headquarters.

TREATMENT ALTERNATIVES FOR SAFE COMMUNITIES (TASC) CHATHAM INTEGRATED STAFFING MEETINGS

TASC Chatham holds integrated staffing meetings twice a month for participants to engage in dialogue on how to help returning citizens overcome barriers to re-entry, build capacity through networking with local and state community constituents and leaders, and communicate with other fellow TASC partnering agencies.
