CPS: Community Action Council Meeting – Austin

Community Action Councils, or CACs, consist of 25-30 voting members who are directly involved in developing a strategic plan for educational success within their communities. CAC members include parents; elected officials; faith-based institutions, health care and community-based organizations; Local School Council (LSC) members; business leaders; educators and school administrators; staff members from Chicago’s Sister Agencies; community residents; and students.

 Derek Eder, Civic Tech Builder and Founder of Chi Hacknight will discuss COPA's open data set on police misconduct complaints.  Members of COPA will walk through this data and talk about the role of transparency and open data in their work going forward. This event is open to the public, we ask that you RSVP.

2515 Beat Meeting is where residents meet with police officers to discuss concerns about how to make their neighborhoods safe. This event is open to the public.

6th District Beat Facilitator Meeting

Meet to discuss concerns within the district and solutions to issues in the district. COPA will also make a formal presentation educating Beat Facilitators on our role in police oversight and accountability.

Treatment Alternatives for Safe Communities (TASC) Chatham Integrated Staffing Meetings

TASC Chatham holds integrated staffing meetings twice a month for participants  to engage in dialogue on how to help returning citizens overcome barriers to re-entry, build capacity through networking with local and state community constituents and leaders, and communicate with other fellow TASC partnering agencies.
