COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 07.21.25. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Chicago Lawn, Gage Park, Humboldt Park, Belmont Cragin, and Chatham communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Alderwoman in the Park at Oakley Park – July 21, 2024
COPA had a great time attending Alderwoman in the Park at Oakley Park hosted by Alderwoman Stephanie D. Coleman. This event organized by Alderwoman Coleman works to bring city services and other community resources directly to the community. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.

Alderwoman in the Park at Montgomery Mabel Park – July 24, 2024
COPA had a great time attending Alderwoman in the Park at Montgomery Mabel Park hosted by Alderwoman Stephanie D. Coleman. This event organized by Alderwoman Coleman works to bring city services and other community resources directly to the community and delicious BBQ food by Michael Airhart Taste for the Homeless. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.
Acero Back to School Bash – July 25, 2025
COPA had a great time at the Acero Back to School Bash in the Gage Park community. The bash included food, fun activities, and community organizations providing information on local programming. COPA was able to set up a table and share our role in police accountability.

Beloved Community Bash – July 25, 2025
COPA attended the New Life Centers Beloved Community Bash in the Humboldt Park community. The bash aims to bring safe spaces for young people and community to enjoy activities, food, and connect to local resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police accountability.

Onward Neighborhood House Health Fair – July 26, 2025
COPA had a great time at the Annual Onward Neighborhood House Health Fair in the Belmont Cragin community. The fair included health screenings, produce giveaway, clothing giveaway, community resources, and several local officials that were giving out important information. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give information about filing complaints and compliments for CPD.
Step by Step Foundation Community Resource Fair – July 26, 2025
COPA had a great time at the Annual Onward Neighborhood House Health Fair in the Belmont Cragin community. The fair brought together several community organizations with resource and employment opportunities. COPA was able to set up a resource table and share with the public the agency’s role in police accountability.
