COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 02.09.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Grand Boulevard, Austin, and North Park communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Cook County Health National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Health & Resource Fair – February 09, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day Health & Resource Fair at the King Cetner. The fair included health screenings, food, and local community organizations providing information on programming. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information about our role in police accountability.

Leaders Network Community Monthly Meeting – February 10, 2026
COPA attended the Leaders Network Community Monthly Meeting held in the Austin community that was comprised of faith and community leaders that work together to organize, strategize, and mobilize to improve the quality of life for the west side communities. This meeting included information on property taxes and local resources available to the community. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.

COPA at Chicago Public Library – Albany Park Branch – February 11, 2026
COPA had a great time at the Chicago Public Library, Albany Park Branch in the North park community. The Albany Park branch has ongoing activities and groups accessible to the entire community including a bread club, several story times, and ESL classes. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police oversight.
