COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 07.13.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Austin, Belmont Cragin, and Oakland communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Leaders Network Monthly Community Meeting – July 14, 2026
COPA attended the Leaders Network Community Monthly Meeting held in the Austin community that was comprised of faith and community leaders that work together to organize, strategize, and mobilize to improve the quality of life for the west side communities. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.
CICS West Belden Playstreets Block Party – July 15, 2026
COPA had a great time at the CICS West Belden Playstreets Block Party in the Belmont Cragin community. The block party included activities, performances, food, giveaways, and local community resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police accountability.
Chicago Park District 2026 TIP (Teens in the Park) Fest – July 18, 2026
COPA had a great time attending Tip (Teens in the Park) Fest at Oakwood Beach. The fest included food, live performances, activities, and community organizations that were giving our information on several resources and programming. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information about our role in police accountability.
