COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 05.18.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Humboldt Park, Belmont Cragin, New City, and Fuller Park communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Nobel Neighbors Monthly Community Meeting – May 19, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the Nobel Neighbors Community Meeting in the Humboldt Park community. Nobel Neighbors holds its meetings at various community organizations on the West side. This meeting was held at the New Life Center’s Humboldt Park site; its focus was to address the various issues impacting residents and to find proactive solutions. Several community organizations and local official representatives attend this meeting to give information on resources and community updates. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on our role in police accountability.

Aetna Community Baby Shower – May 19, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the Aetna Community Baby Shower at the GAP Community Center. This event brought together a group of parents to be so they could receive information on local resources, free giveaways, and baby shower games with prizes! COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on how to file complaints and compliments for CPD.

Chicago Mayor’s Office Summer Safety Press Conference & Wellness Fair – May 21, 2026
COPA joined Mayor Brandon Johsnon and several city leaders for the Summer Safety Press Conference and Wellness Fair in the New City community. The event brought together dozens of city agencies and local organizations to provide resources, food, and fun activities. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our agency and its role in police accountability.

2026 Southside Youth Explosion – May 23, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the 2026 Southside Youth Explosion in the Fuller Park community. The event created a safe space for community to engage in fun activities, meals, performances, and included a resource fair component. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on how to file compliments and complaints towards CPD.
