Weekly Spotlight: Amor Eterno: Always and Forever – A Community Celebration Honoring our Ancestors and more

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 10.27.25. This week our Public Affairs team was in Humboldt Park, West Garfield Park, Pullman, Rogers Park, Hermosa, and Gage Park communities.

Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Puerto Rican Cultural Center My Chi. My Future Convener Meeting – October 27, 2025
COPA joined the Puerto Rican Cultural Center (PRCC) for their My Chi. My Future Convener Meeting in Humboldt Park. The PRCC gathers service providers and community partners from the northwest side to share resources, plan activities, and work collectively to end violence while proactively supporting young people, this meeting was in conjunction with Alderperson Jessie Fuentes Public Safety gathering. COPA was able to share our role in police oversight and give out information on how to file complaints and compliments towards CPD.

Garfield Park Rite to Wellness Collaborative Fall Fest – October 27, 2025

COPA had a great time attending the Garfield Park Rite to Wellness Collaborative Fall Fest event. The event included trick-or-treating, local community resources, and fun activities. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police oversight.

Parent University Open House at Corliss High School – October 28, 2025

COPA had a great time attending the Parent University Open House at Corliss High School in the Pullman community. The open house allowed parents & community to explore programming while accessing local resources.  COPA was able to set up a table and give out information on our role in police accountability.

COPA had a great time attending the Parent University Open House at Field School in the Rogers Park community. The open house allowed parents & community to explore programming while accessing local resources.  COPA was able to set up a table and give out information on how to file complaints and compliments for CPD.

Hermosa Halloween at Nixon Elementary – October 31, 2025

COPA had a great time attending Hermosa Halloween event at Nixon Elementary. The event included face painting, trick-or-treating, and local community resources.  COPA was able to set up a table and give out information on our role in police accountability.

COPA had a great time attending the CircEsteem Amor Eterno: Always and Forever Community Celebration Honoring Our Ancestors event in the Gage Park community.  The event included face painting, various altars, and community resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table to give out information on how to file complaints and compliments for CPD.
