COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 07.27.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in Belmont Cragin, Englewood, Humboldt Park, and Austin communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Northwest Community Alliance Monthly Meeting – July 27, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the Northwest Community Alliance Monthly Meeting hosted at Metropolitan Family Services in the Portage Park community. Our agency was able to meet with various not-for-profit organizations to discuss community resources that can be offered to Latino communities on the Northwest side of Chicago. During the meeting COPA also shared with meeting attendees the role that we play in police oversight.
Alderwoman in the Park at Moran Park – July 14, 2024
COPA had a great time attending Alderwoman in the Park at Moran Park hosted by Alderwoman Stephanie D. Coleman. This event organized by Alderwoman Coleman works to bring city services and other community resources directly to the community. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.
New Life Centers Beloved Community Bash – July 24, 2026
COPA attended the New Life Centers Beloved Community Bash in the Humboldt Park community. The bash aims to bring safe spaces for young people and community to enjoy activities, food, and connect to local resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police accountability.
West Side Pastors’ Coalition for AIDS & Inner-City Health Back to School Health & Resource Fair – August 1, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the West Side Pastors’ Coalition for AIDS & Inner-City Health Back to School Health & Resource Fair. The event included activities, music, school supply giveaways and local community resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police accountability.
