COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 04.27.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Brighton Park and Portage Park communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Acero Marquez Dia del Niño Resources Fair – April 29, 2026
COPA had a great time in the McKinley Park community attending ACERO Schools Día del Niño Celebration & Resource Fair. The event included activities, arts & crafts, and a resource fair component with local organizations. At this outreach event COPA was able to set up a resource table and share its agency role in police misconduct with students and their families. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give information on how to file complaints and compliments for CPD.



Northwest Community Alliance Meeting – April 30, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the Northwest Community Alliance Monthly Meeting hosted at Metropolitan Family Services in the Portage Park community. Our agency was able to meet with various not-for-profit organizations to discuss community resources that can be offered to Latino communities on the Northwest side of Chicago. The meeting included a presentation from Juan Calixto, Executive Vice President of External Relations at Chicago Community Loan Fund. During the meeting COPA also shared with meeting attendees the role that we play in police oversight.
