COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 05.11.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Near West Side, Austin, Englewood, Chicago Lawn, New City, Uptown, and Dunning communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. 2026 Airport Small Business Summit & Job Fair – May 12, 2026
COPA had a great time at 2026 Airport Small Business Summit and Job Fair at the UIC Forum. This event brings together government & private job opportunities, workshops, and presentations, and exposure to different contract opportunities. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our agency and its role in police accountability.

Leaders Network Monthly Community Meeting – May 12, 2026
COPA attended the Leaders Network Community Monthly Meeting held in the Austin community that was comprised of faith and community leaders that work together to organize, strategize, and mobilize to improve the quality of life for the west side communities. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.

Mayor Brandon Johnson’s Annual Faith Summit – May 13, 2026
COPA attended Mayor Brandon Johnson’s Annual Faith Summit held at Kennedy King College. The event gathered hundreds of faith leaders from across the city of Chicago representing all faiths and included a resource fair component. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on filing complaints & compliments towards CPD.

DFSS Southwest Regional Senior Resource Fair – May 15, 2026
COPA had an amazing time attending the Chicago Department of Family & Support Services Southwest Regional Senior Center Resource Fair in the Chicago Lawn community. This fair brough in several community organizations, city departments, and health vendors to connect seniors to services. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our agency and its role in police accountability.

Mother’s Day Resource Fair at Richards Career Academy – May 15, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the Mother’s Day Resource Fair at Richards Career Academy in the New City community. This event included workshops, local community organizations, a meal, and raffles connecting parents and community to resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on how to file compliments and complaints towards CPD.

Chicago Small Biz Expo at Truman College – May 16, 2026
COPA had a great time at the Chicago Small Biz Expo at Truman College in the Uptown community. The expo is designed to connect local entrepreneurs and small business owners across Chicago. It included a resource fair component and networking session with City Treasurer Melissa Conyears-Ervin and several info sessions. COPA was able to set up a table and give out information about our role in police oversight.

Mobile City Hall at Shabbona Park – May 16, 2026
COPA joined City Clerk Anna Valencia for the Mobile City at Shabbona Park in the Dunning community. The City Clerk’s office, along with various other city departments, were onsite to connect city services directly to the community including obtaining a City Key ID, city stickers, and other permits. COPA was able to set up a resource table and share with the public the agency’s role in police accountability.
