COPA PROVIDES UPDATE ON EMPLOYEE WHO DISCHARGED WEAPON DURING ENCOUNTER WITH UNKNOWN INDIVIDUAL

Today, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) terminated an employee who discharged a weapon during an encounter with an unknown individual Sunday morning.

“COPA has strict policies, a code of conduct and high standards for every employee of the agency,” said Sydney Roberts, Chief Administrator. “There is a responsibility we have as employees of COPA and as law abiding residents of this great city to use sound judgment under difficult circumstances. When the actions of any employee violate the policies of this agency, we will hold them accountable.”
