COPA PROVIDES STATEMENT ON OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING NEAR 3300 W. IRVING PARK AVE.

On December 11, 2020 the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) responded to the scene of an officer involved shooting near 3300 W. Irving Park.

Based upon early investigative results and after consulting with the Superintendent of the Chicago Police Department (CPD), COPA supports the Superintendent’s decision to relieve the involved officer of his police powers.

COPA’s administrative investigation into the officer’s use of deadly force continues. In accordance with the City’s Video Release Policy all related video and other materials will be released within 60 days of the incident.
