Fall Citizen’s Police Academy
COPA will be one of the speakers at the fall session of the Chicago Police Department’s (CPD) Citizen’s Police Academy to discuss the agency’s mission and the role we play in police reform. The Citizen’s Police Academy is a department-wide strategy designed to educate the community on police operations, build community trust, and improve engagement efforts through department-led training and discussion.

COPA investigators will be on site to receive complaints and compliments of Chicago Police Officers. Also, the staff will address questions and provide an overview of the agency.
Public Meetings of the Police Board
Public Meetings of the Police Board
The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board.
The meetings are scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and take place at the Chicago Public Safety Headquarters.
COPA and the City Clerk Mobile City Hall Community Initiative
COPA and the City Clerk Mobile City Hall Community Initiative
COPA joins Anna Valencia City Clerk Office along with various city departments, sister agencies, aldermanic offices and community organizations for the launch of the new Mobile City Hall. Mobile City Hall will be hosted regionally at various convenient locations throughout Chicago to allow residents access to several city and community services. Residents will also have an opportunity to ask questions and gain a better understanding of the services of City Hall. COPA will share with residents the agency outreach efforts and the role we play in police accountability. Staff will also be available to receive complaints and compliments on members of the Chicago Police Department.
