DFSS My Chi My Future Sustainability Summit

COPA participated in the Chicago Department of Family and Support Services Sustainability Summit for the My Chi My Future Delegate Agencies who met with nonprofit organizations from across Chicago. The event allowed for the opportunity to connect and partner in the coming months with their youth programming.

Kelvyn Park High School Career Fair

COPA attended the Kelvyn Park High School Career Fair. We were able to engage young people in learning about police accountability careers and answered questions on how to file complaints or compliments towards members of the Chicago Police Department.

Mikva Challenge Safety & Justice Youth Council

COPA’s Chief Investigative Law Officer Katarina Durcova held a conversation about the 4th Amendment with the Safety & Justice Youth Council at Mikva Challenge. Young people conversed about search & seizure and engaged in asking thoughtful questions.

AETNA Better Health of Illinois Pop-Up Farmers Market

COPA plans to set up a resource table at this event to share with residents in this community our agency mission and help them understand the importance of police oversight. This event starts at 1PM and will be held at 2216 S. Whipple.

COPA Presentation at New Life Centers

COPA visited New Life Centers migrant shelter in Little Village. During our agency time at this event, we were able to connect with families and help them understand our agency’s mission and vision.

Gage Park Community Meeting

COPA attended the Gage Park Community Meeting, which was hosted by the Southwest Organizing Project (SWOP). At this outreach event, COPA set up a resource table and shared its agency role in police accountability with youth and their families in Gage Park.
