COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 9.11.23

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 9.11.23. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Leaders Network Community Meeting- 9.12.23
COPA attended the Leaders Network Community Meeting at the Columbus Park Refectory. Faith-based leaders and community stakeholders gather each month to discuss ways to better the west side through community action.

City Clerk Mobile City Hall Community Resource Fair at Lake Shore Park – 9.12.23

COPA joined Anna Valencia City Clerk Office along with various other city departments and sister agencies to connect with the community. At this mobile outreach event, COPA had a resource table and shared with the public the agency’s role in police accountability.

Hamline Elementary Open House – 9.12.23
COPA attended Hamline Elementary Open House on Tuesday, September 12th. COPA had an opportunity to set up a resource table and talk to families and community members about our agency. 

ACERO Schools North Side Leaders’ Summit – 9.13.23

COPA attended ACERO Schools North Side Leaders’ Summit held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.  COPA was able to inform community leaders from Avondale, Belmont-Cragin, Humboldt Park, Rogers Park, and surrounding neighborhoods about our agency operations and discuss the best ways we can partner.  COPA looks forward to continuing to collaborate and engage ACERO’s students, families, and educators during the 2023-24 school year.
