COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 8.29.22

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago at several community events during the week of 8.29.22. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. If you are interested in COPA speaking to your community group or organization, please submit a request via email to COPA-PublicAffairs@chicagocopa.org

Mobile City Hall 8/30

COPA joined Anna Valencia City Clerk Office in the Lakeview neighborhood along with various other city departments and sister agencies to connect with the community. At this outreach event COPA in addition to various city departments were set up at resource tables to offer residents access to city services at this mobile event.

COPA Community Service Project: Bingo with Seniors 8/31

COPA has made an agency commitment to offer various community service projects for our staff. One of those efforts includes volunteering at the Department of Family and Support Services and Department of Aging West Town Senior Satellite Center. During our time at the office, COPA’s staff spent time engaging with senior citizens by playing bingo with them.
