COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 6.19.23

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 6.19.23. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Nobel Neighbors Monthly Community Meeting – 6.20.23

Each month COPA looks forward to coming together and connecting with many community stakeholders and residents at this outreach event. This month was no different, which is why COPA attended the meeting hosted by Nobel Neighbors, a community-based organization that focuses on improving the quality of life for residents in Chicago’s West Humboldt Park area.

Alumni Nobel Network of Charter Schools Resource Fair – 6.23.23

COPA attended the Alumni of Noble Network of Charter Schools Resource Fair. At this community event, COPA had a resource table and shared with the public the agency role in police oversight. This resource fair was held at Butler College Prep.

Senior Fun Day Community Fair – 6.24.23

COPA visited the JLM Life Center for its Senior Fun Day Community Event. At this outreach event, COPA had a resource table and shared with the public the agency role in police oversight. This community event filled offered the public access to community resources and several fun activities which included cake decorating, line dancing, fitness activity, motorcycle show, and verge photo booth.

City Clerk Mobile City Hall Community Resource Fair – 6.24.23

COPA joined Anna Valencia City Clerk Office along with various other city departments and sister agencies to connect with the community. At this mobile outreach event held at the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences (CHSAS). COPA in addition to various city departments set up resource tables and provided residents access to city services.

Chicago Pride Parade – 6.25.23

COPA participated in the 52nd Annual Chicago Pride Parade on Sunday, June 25th. This year theme: People. Power. Pride. and nearly one million people were in attendance. COPA had a great time walking in the parade alongside the Mayor’s Office and other city officials to show support for the LGBTQ+ community in Chicago.
