COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 6.12.23

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 6.12.23. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. The Leaders Network Monthly Community Meeting – 6.13.23

COPA attended The Leaders Network monthly community meeting in Austin. We are proud partners of the Leaders Network, an organization comprised of faith & community leaders working together to improve west side communities.

Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities (MOPD) Resource Fair – 6.14.23

COPA participated in the Mayor’s Office of People with Disabilities (MOPD) Resource Fair at the Central West Community Center. Dozens of agency providers including COPA shared with the attendees their agency resources and services.

City Clerk Mobile City Hall Community Resource Fair- 6.15.23

COPA joined Anna Valencia City Clerk Office at Oriole Park along with various other city departments and sister agencies to connect with the community. At this mobile outreach event, COPA had a resource table and shared with the public the agency’s role in police accountability.

Voice of the People Uptown Chicago 3rd Annual Juneteenth Jubilee & Resource Fair – 6.17.23

On Saturday, COPA attended the Voice of the People Uptown Chicago 3rd Annual Juneteenth Jubilee & Resource Fair at Truman College. Attendees had the opportunity to view dozens of resource table providers, receive free food, and listen to a live DJ.
