COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 10.10.22
COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago at several community events during the week of 10.10.22. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. If you are interested in COPA speaking to your community group or organization, please submit a request via email to

One of those efforts includes volunteering at the Department of Family and Support Services and Department of Aging West Town Senior Satellite Center. During our time at the office, COPA’s staff engaged with senior citizens by playing bingo with them. We plan to return to the senior center soon to participate in another community service project.
COPA Community Service Project – Clean & Green in South Shore 10/14/22
COPA has made an agency commitment to offer various community service projects for our staff. One of those efforts includes connecting with the city’s Department of Streets and Sanitation’s Clean & Green program to help clean and beautify various neighborhood lots in the city. Staff from COPA along with other city departments gathered brooms, rakes, shovels, and garbage bags and successfully picked up a ton of trash and cleaned a city lot in South Shore neighborhood.
