COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 01.02.23

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the new year at several community events during the week of 01.02.23. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Family Winter Fair at the King Community Center 01.06.23

On Friday January 6 the Public Affairs team began their day in the Grand Boulevard / Bronzeville area for the Family Winter Fair at the King Community Center. The fair offered families the opportunity to connect with many service providers including city services and nonprofit organizations. Children were also given winter coats and families were provided lunch for their attendance. The event was sponsored by the Chicago Department of Family & Support Services.

 

The Sky’s The Limit Youth Kickback in Little Village 01.06.23

Friday evening the Public Affairs team joined The Alliance 98’s youth kickback in Little Village at Piotrowski Park for. This event is fully youth-led, planned and executed! We’re here till 6pm, come learn about COPA and the other service providers. Chicago Sky is here for a girl’s basketball clinic, too!  Congratulations to TA98’s teens for this awesome event! The event even included a visit from Chicago’s First Lady Amy Eshleman.
