Pursuant to the Illinois Freedom of Information Act’s personal information exemption (5 ILCS 140/7(1)(c)) which protects the unwarranted invasion of personal privacy, the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (COPA) is not releasing certain portions of audio and video materials received and reviewed to date relative to this incident which involved the death of a two year old.
This post was updated on June 1, 2023 to include the Final Summary Report, Superintendent’s Concurrence and Request for Review Documents. As part of the non-concurrence process, COPA and the Superintendent agreed to a 90 day suspension for Officer Williams.
