Weekly Spotlight: Intrinsic Schools Networking Night and more

COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 03.09.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Loop, Austin, Englewood, and South Lawndale communities.

Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Intrinsic Schools Networking Night – March 09, 2026

COPA had a great time attending the Intrinsic Networking Night at their Downtown campus. COPA was able to connect with young minds and discuss career opportunities in public safety and police accountability. Young people were able to learn about our role in police oversight, it was a powerful opportunity to inspire and empower young people.

Leaders Network Community Monthly Meeting – March 10, 2026

COPA attended the Leaders Network Community Monthly Meeting held in the Austin community that was comprised of faith and community leaders that work together to organize, strategize, and mobilize to improve the quality of life for the west side communities. This meeting included awards to various women community leaders engaged in work to better Austin and Chicago.  COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.

Teen Opportunities Fair at Kennedy King College – March 14, 2026

COPA had a great time attending the Chicago Park Districts Teen Opportunity Fair at Kennedy King College. This fair gives young people the opportunity to apply for jobs on site while exploring various programs and resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our agency and police accountability.

Aetna Better Health of Illinois Pop-Up Farmers Market March 15, 2026
COPA participated in the Aetna Better Health of Illinois Pop-up Farmers Market at Our Lady of Tepeyac Elementary School. The event included a fresh grocery giveaway and an abundance of community resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information about our agency & police accountability.
