COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 09.08.25. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Austin, Near West Side, Edgewater, and Englewood communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Leaders Network Monthly Community Meeting September 9, 2025
COPA attended the Leaders Network Community Monthly Meeting held in the Austin community that was comprised of faith and community leaders that work together to organize, strategize, and mobilize to improve the quality of life for the west side communities. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on how to file complaints or compliments towards CPD.

Citywide Career Fair Planning Meeting September 11, 2025
Interim Chief Administrator LaKenya White joined Chicago City Clerk Anna Valencia and Chicago Transit Authority Acting President Nora Leerhsen for a planning meeting of the Citywide Career Fair. This will the 5th career fair that is organized, COPA has been a collaborating partner since their inception.

City Clerk’s Mobile City Hall – Northside – September 13, 2025
COPA joined City Clerk Anna Valencia and other officials for the Mobile City Hall at the Broadway Armory in the Edgewater community. The City Clerk’s office, along with various other city departments, were onsite to connect city services directly to the community including obtaining a City Key ID, city stickers, and other permits. COPA was able to set up a resource table and share with the public the agency’s role in police accountability.
Englewood Music Fest September 13, 2025
COPA had a great time attending the Englewood Music Fest organized by Alderwoman Stephanie D. Coleman at Kennedy-King College. The fest which celebrates the finest of the Englewood community, included performances, art activations, and community resources. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on how to file complaints or compliments for CPD.
