COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 02.23.26. This week our Public Affairs team was in the Riverdale, Humboldt Park, West Town, and Chicago Lawn communities.
Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. COPA at Chicago Public Library – Altgeld Branch – February 24, 2026
COPA had a great time at the Chicago Public Library, Humboldt Park Branch. The Humboldt Park branch has ongoing activities and groups accessible to the entire community including a teen board game night, several story times, and film screenings. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police oversight.

COPA had a great time at the Chicago Public Library, Humboldt Park Branch. The Humboldt Park branch has ongoing activities and groups accessible to the entire community including a afterschool activities, several story times, and adult creative hours. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police oversight.

Northwest Community Alliance Meeting – February 26, 2026
COPA had a great time attending the Northwest Community Alliance Monthly Meeting hosted at Linden House Apartments in the West Town community. Our agency was able to meet with various not-for-profit organizations to discuss community resources that can be offered to Latino communities on the Northwest side of Chicago. During the meeting COPA also shared with meeting attendees the role that we play in police oversight.

Black History Month Celebration at the DFSS Southwest Regional Senior Center – February 27, 2026
COPA had a great time at the Black History Month Celebration at the Department of Family and Support Services Southwest Regional Senior Center. This lively group of seniors was excited to celebrate the many contributions made by the black community. COPA was able to set up a resource table and provide information about our role in police accountability.
