COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT EVENTS WEEK OF 04.14.25
COPA had a great time engaging the residents of Chicago in the community during the week of 04.14.25. Our office is committed to helping residents understand how to file a complaint or compliment an officer and explain to the public our role in police oversight. Below is a brief description of our most recent community engagement efforts. Nobel Neighbors Monthly Community Meeting – April 15, 2024
COPA had a great time attending the Nobel Neighbors Community Meeting in the Humboldt Park community. Nobel Neighbors holds its meeting at various community organizations in the Humboldt Park area. This meeting was held at New Life Center Church in Humboldt Park, its focus was to address the various issues impacting residents and to find proactive solutions. This month the guest speaker was Mayor Brandon Johnson who gave various updates on community programs and investments available for young people and families. COPA attends these meetings to give out information on our role in police accountability.
COPA at Edgewater Library – April 17, 2025
COPA had a great time at the Edgewater Branch of Chicago Public Library in the Edgewater community. The Edgewater Branch has ongoing activities and groups accessible to the entire community including knitting classes, support groups, and several story events. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on how to file compliments and complaints towards CPD.

Steinmetz Earthy Day Fun Run – April 19, 2025
COPA had a great time attending the Steinmetz Earth Day Fun Run in the Belmont Cragin community. This event was able to gather over 100 runners for a 2 miles course to appreciate nature and the community. The run included a resource fair where runners and community were able to obtain information on local programming, health, and educational opportunities. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on our role in police accountability.

Rise Up Family & Community Engagement Summit – April 19, 2025
COPA had a great time participating in the Rise Up Family & Community Engagement Summit in the Washington Heights community. This event included several panel discussions and community conversations to foster a brighter future for the far south side. The summit included a resource fair component with vaccinations, health screenings, and local community organizations sharing programming. COPA was able to set up a resource table and give out information on how to file complaints and compliments towards CPD.
