COPA PROVIDES UPDATE ON OFFICER USING HOMOPHOBIC SLUR

Today the Civilian Office of Police Accountability officially identified the Chicago Police Officer using a homophobic slur and recommended the officer be relieved of police powers pending the outcome of its investigation. The Department has concurred with COPA’s decision.

COPA made its initial recommendation to the Superintendent on June 5th, after a video of the incident was reported to our office.

Additionally, if anyone has experienced, witnessed or has information on an incident involving police misconduct, you can file a complaint via our website at chicagocopa.org/complaints or by phone on our hotline voicemail at 312-743-COPA (2672).
