DESCRIPTION:The Police Board holds a regular public meeting once a month. Members of the public are invited to attend and are welcome to address questions or comments to the Board. The Superintendent of Police (or his designee) and the Chief Administrator of the Civilian Office of Police Accountability (or her designee) will be at the meetings. Prior sign-up is required of those wishing to address the Board; to add your name to the list of speakers\, please contact the Board’s office at 312.742.4194 or PoliceBoard@cityofchicago.org up to 15 minutes before the meeting begins. Leveraging elements of a CPD “Operation Clean” and “Operation Wake-up\,” we will bring together our infrastructure partners to complete maintenance requests and clean and green a block area\, which we will couple with a short speaking program featuring the Mayor\, CPD Superintendent\, and local community and faith leaders to discuss our strategies for community safety and issue a call to action for residents. This work builds on many aspects of our Summer Safety Plan we announced in May and backs up the Mayor Johnson’s commitment for all Chicagoans to contribute to community safety.
