Tracie Smith, First Deputy Chief Administrator
Tracie L. Smith has over 25 years of law enforcement and legal experience. Smith recently retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigations, (FBI) as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC). Smith oversaw FBI Springfield’s National Security Branch where she was responsible for all Counterterrorism, Counterintelligence, Cyber and Intelligence matters. Prior to Smith’s assignment of National Security ASAC, Smith oversaw Springfield’s Criminal Branch were she was responsible for Public Corruption, White Collar Crimes, Civil Rights and Agent involved shootings. Smith brings a wealth of first-hand investigative experience, legal oversight and managerial experience to COPA. She spearheaded several initiatives with the FBI in public policy, training, human resources, and budgets. Prior to joining the FBI, Smith was a municipal prosecutor and a Registered Nurse. Smith remains licensed in both fields by the State of Ohio. Smith is committed to community service and has served several years with the Boy Scouts of America executive board.
Smith holds a Juris Doctorate and Bachelors of Science in Nursing from the University of Akron. She also holds a Certificate of Leadership from George Washington University.
